Talk Sporty To Me is a small tool for translating between plain English and sports metaphors. This page explains what happens to anything you type here. It applies to all visitors, wherever you are in the world.
When you use the translator, the text you type (plus your sport or translation-target choice) is sent to our server, which forwards it to Anthropic's Claude API to generate the translation. That's the entire data flow, and it's the only time anything leaves your browser. We don't save your inputs or the translations, and we don't build any profile of you.
Two service providers are involved in making this work: Netlify hosts the site and may keep short-lived technical logs (such as IP addresses) for operations and security, and Anthropic processes the submitted text to generate the response, under its own privacy policy.
The site's typefaces are served by Google Fonts, so your browser fetches them from Google. As a normal part of delivering those fonts, Google receives your IP address and basic request details — this happens on every page view, whether or not you use the translator. The fonts aren't used to identify or track you. See Google's privacy policy.
The quiz, the flip cards, and the glossary run entirely on your device. Playing the quiz, your score, and your result identity are never transmitted anywhere unless you choose to copy or share them yourself.
Because submitted text is processed by a third-party AI service, don't type anything confidential or personally sensitive into the translator — the tool only needs the gist of what you want to say.
If this policy changes, the update will appear on this page with a new effective date. Questions? Contact the site operator at sports.splainer@gmail.com.
